This post aggregates information and details about the Israeli Brevet 1200 of 2026 that will start on 27/Oct/2026.

This is a "live" post, that will continue to be updated until the beginning of the brevet.
It will include information and links to help riders pass the brevet successfully.
Israeli riders, please refer to the Hebrew version.
In the 2026 season, we'll have the 4th edition of the Israeli 1200 km brevet.
Brevet 1200 is the longest brevet in Israel to date.
We've had several 1000 km brevets in the past, and there is a brevet series every year since 2006 (except 2008.)

All ACP and LRM rules apply in this brevet.

Route, as of December 2025, subject to change:
The route will start and finish in Tel Aviv (Around N32.1035743 E34.7770494 ) on a Tuesday evening, finishing on Saturday afternoon.
Route highlights: Tel Aviv, Antipatris, Dead Sea, Massada, Big Crater, Mitzpe Ramon, Ramon Crater, Negev Desert, Eilat, Red Sea, Tel Aviv.
Some motives:
King Herod: Antipatris, Massada
Geology: Dead Sea, Massada, Big Crater, Ramon Crater, Negev Desert

Qualification for non Israelis:
A brevet of at least 400 km in the 2026 season.
You may register your interest before you qualify.

Registration:
The field is limited to 49 riders.
Registration will open on 1/Jan/2026.
On 1 February 2026, the registered riders list will be sorted, and riders that rode a brevet in Israel before November 2025 will be at the top of the registration list.
From 1 February 2026, the start list will be sorted by the time of the registration of interest.
There is an option to ride with the Israeli volunteers, 2 weeks prior to the official date, on 13/Oct/2026.
If you wish to ride with the Israeli volunteers - Please contact us through the registration form.
If you're an observant religious rider that prefer to start riding on a different day of the week - Please contact us through the registration form.
Once you filled the online registration request form, you should receive a registration request confirmation email. You'll need to reply the registration request confirmation email, so we know it was a real person that filled the registration request form.
If you have not received the registration request confirmation email within 48 hours - Please fill the registration request form again, or leave a comment here.
After you'll reply to the registration request confirmation email - You'll receive an email that confirms your registration.Like all brevets in Israel - There are no registration fees of any kind!
A rider that will finish the brevet successfully could ask to be registered and homologated by the LRM.
Handling fees for LRM registration are 25 ILS (about 8 USD, 7 EUR, 6 GBP) per rider.
Handling fees are to be paid within 48 hours after the successful finish.
Registration times for a support car (that you can meet at the controls) are the same as for the riders.
There are no registration fees for a support car.
No Finisher Medal will be offered for this ride.

Logistics:
There will be a group reservation of beds and showers.
Cost is yet unknown at the time of writing (December 2025,) but is estimated at 900 ILS (about 285 USD, 240 EUR, 210 GBP.)
There is no obligation to participate in the reservation of beds and showers.
The number of available beds is equal to the size of the field.
The price for a bed will be fixed no matter how many beds will be requested.
The group reservation of beds and showers include a bag-drop service.

FAQs:
1) Official Information about the ride:
This blog post is the only official place to get information about the ride.
If official information will be posted elsewhere on the internet (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.) then this page will link to it.
2) Flight to Israel:
The Tel Aviv Airport code is TLV.
It is about 20 km from central Tel Aviv.
Easiest way to get to Tel Aviv would be to take a taxi (on your left as you exit the arrivals hall.) Cost is about 180 ILS plus 10-30 ILS depending on the size and number of large bags.
Cheaper would be to take the train to a train station in Tel Aviv (there are 4 train stations in Tel Aviv, the central station is called "Savidor," and continue with either a local taxi, or a bus.
Train ticket is about 12 NIS one way. Local Tel Aviv taxi could cost about 40-80 ILS (metered,) and bus is about 8 ILS.
Assembled bikes cannot go on local (urban areas) buses.
Assembled bikes go for free on inter-city buses.
Assembled bikes go for free on the train during off-peak hours.
3) Tel Aviv Sleeping Options:
Tel Aviv has a full range of accommodation options.
Hotels are the most expensive.
Cheaper are boutique hotels.
Cheaper are single rooms at hostels.
Cheaper are dorm rooms at hostels.
Free are services like couchsurfing or warmshowers...
There are also many Airbnb places in Tel Aviv. Prices vary.
There are quite a few convenience stores that are open 24/7 in Tel Aviv, so no problems getting groceries and food at any hour, day or night.
The ride starts and finishes where the Yarkon River meets the Mediterranean Sea, near the Tel Aviv Port (not the Old Port of Jaffa.)

Tel Aviv is flat, so it doesn't really matter where you sleep.
The northern part, towards the Yarkon River is a little more quiet, and it gets busier as you move southwards towards the center.
4) Visiting Israel:
If you have never been to Israel, and have some time to spare, I would recommend visiting these places as well: Sea of Galilee, Haifa (and the Bahai Gardens), Nazareth, Jerusalem.
The Brevet will take you to the Dead Sea, Massada, Negev Desert, Eilat, and the Red Sea.
As noted above: Bikes go free on the bus and train, so you could take your bike and ride around these places, but I wouldn't recommend riding in the big towns if you're not familiar with "Mediterranean Driving" (if you know what I mean... ;-) )
5) Desert Section:
There is a 90 km section on the Negev Desert. We plan to have 2 places in this section that will provide water for free. Riding with 2 standard bottles (mid size, at least 600 cc each) should suffice.
The Brevet will go on that section after the 2nd night.
We would be happy if everybody would leave together in the early morning hours.
But if you want to rush it, and not wait for the other riders - Know that it is possible to go unsupported through that desert section. 3 liters of water should be enough.
To make things clear: As this is an official LRM randonnee brevet, Every rider is entitled to ride in their own pace!
The brevet route goes through many petrol stations with convenience stores that are open 24/7.
Except for the area south of Mitzpe Ramon.
There is one restaurant there, which should be open when most of you will go through it (both times.)
6) Route, Climbing:
The ride has some notable climbs, and also long flat sections.
Some of the notable climbs:
From the Dead Sea: from minus 350 meters below sea level, to plus 330 above sea level, in 16 km.
Paran: about 10% for 1 km.
A long part of the ride, especially the start and the finish will be flat.
7) Sleeping Place During the Brevet:
There is one sleeping place where we will be staying for 3 nights. It is planned to be in Sde Boker.
There are numerous options to sleep there (apart from the general sleeping that will be supplied to all riders who'd want to secure a bed,) and you could have a B&B with your SO. :-)
There are several hiking trails around Sde Boker that can be explored while you will be riding.
There is a petrol station near the sleeping place with a convenience store which is open 24/7.
There are also a bike shop and a grocery store that open during normal business hours.
8) GPS File(s):
A GPS file with a track and waypoints for controls will be provided. It will not have a route.
(You could create the route yourself, as I don't know what kind of map you'll have on your GPS.)
For clarification: Waypoints are place markers. Track is a "dumb" line. Route is a "smart" line between points that supports turn-by-turn-navigation.
(Some GPS models support turn-by-turn-navigation with a track.)
Another gps file with waypoints at places that are open 24/7 will also be provided.
9) Jersey:
There are no plans on making an event jersey, to keep costs low.
10) Pre-ride meetup:
We plan to have a pre-ride meetup, but it's not certain yet.
Watch this space.
There is no obligation to participate in this pre-ride meetup.
11) Pasta Dinner and BBQ:
At this time, we cannot commit to a pasta dinner before the ride.
12) Helmet:
The use of a helmet will not be enforced by us.
That said, as in the PBP: It is highly recommended to wear an approved helmet throughout the event.
14) Aerobar:
Tri-bars and all forms of extensions are allowed.

12) Helmet:
The use of a helmet will not be enforced by us.
That said, as in the PBP: It is highly recommended to wear an approved helmet throughout the event.
14) Aerobar:
Tri-bars and all forms of extensions are allowed.
15) Charging and Electricity:
The sleep area will have electricity so you could charge your devices (mobile phone, gps, lights, etc.) while you rest.
It is recommended that you will have your own chargers and cables in your drop-bag.
Europlug is compatible in Israel.
16) Online Rider Tracking:
It is planned to have some way of tracking riders in real time, as they progress through the controls.
17) Payments:
- Payment for the accommodations and the bag-drop services will need to be paid before the ride.
- LRM registration fees are to be paid only after a successful finish, if desired.
In early July we will notify you of the exact sum that will need to be paid for the accommodations and the bag-drop services.
We will then ask you to pay an equivalent to 150 USD (preferably by PayPal) before 1/Aug/2026 in order to keep your registration, and the rest can be paid at any time before the ride.
You may cancel your accommodations and the bag-drop services before 1/Sep/2026, for any reason, and your payment (whatever you paid - Either the 150 USD, or the full sum) will be refunded in full.
We expect fairness, and if you realize you cannot ride - Please contact us as soon as you can, and we'll remove you from the list, so another rider could be elevated from the waiting list.
If you've requested to reserve a bed, and you won't arrive - Please contact us as soon as you know, and we'll do our best to cancel your bed reservation.

Otherwise - It's money that goes out of our own private pocket.
The order of registered riders will change on 1/Feb/2026, so that on the start of the list there will be riders that already rode (either successfully, or not...) in a brevet in Israel before November 2025.
The Start List will not be reordered again until the beginning of the ride.
The field is limited to 49 riders.
Once there are 49 registered riders - A waiting list will be created.
Another option is to ride in the Volunteers' Ride, 2 weeks before, on 13/Oct/2026.
19) Volunteers' Ride:
The volunteers' ride is held exactly 2 weeks before the official ride, starting on 13/Oct/2026.
If you prefer to ride on that date (e.g. due to Halloween, or whatever reason,) then it is possible.
The same registration terms and costs apply, including the option for bed, or no support at all.
At this point, no bag-drop service is offered on the volunteers' ride.
20) Brevet 200 In November:
One week after the 1200 km brevet, on Friday 6/Nov/2026, there will be an official ACP sanctioned brevet 200.
It will be in the northern part of Israel, a circular route around the Sea of Galilee, with very beautiful views.
The route is a bit lumpy, starting near Nazareth, going to the Sea of Galilee, passing near many early Christianity attractions (like Tabgha, Capernaum, Mount of Beatitudes, Bethsaida, etc.)
climbing to the Golan Heights, and Mount Gilboa.
There is no overlap between the route of this 200 km brevet and the 1200 km brevet.
Start time is 05:00 am from Afula.
This brevet will be part of the 2027 season, and could be used as a qualifier for PBP 2027.
If you'd like to participate in this 200 km brevet - Please notify us as soon as possible.
